Niftakarna by Daniel Cauchi tells an intimate story of an elderly couple whose life together is slowly being reshaped by dementia. Suspended from the ceiling are photographs from their past. As the couple move through the theatre, these photographs surround them like fragments of memories suspended in time. Each image represents a moment from their shared life: their youth, their relationship, their family and the countless small moments that have defined their journey together.

Rather than focusing solely on the loss that comes with dementia, the video explores what remains when memories begin to fade: the connection between two people, the life they shared, and a love that exists beyond memory itself.

In an empty theatre, surrounded by a lifetime suspended above them, the couple are given one final stage on which to revisit the story they wrote together.
